Over the past month or so we’ve taken a look at some minorities and how technology could help governments serve those who don’t have the greatest (or easiest) access to government services.

Here at CDS Group, we like to take our services to a higher level to better help more people. So, we’re curious and looking for feedback on a few things!

For examples of what we’re thinking about, see here. What do you think?

We’d greatly appreciate your feedback!

Let us know in this 5-question survey!

VideoMinutes.NET companion software, MakeAMotion.NET, is an easy to use solution which captures the video and audio of public meetings, presentations, educational seminars, etc. It works effortlessly with VideoMinutes to provide on-demand, online viewing from the customer’s website.

The latest release of the capture solution includes some very exciting capabilities. One of the new features is an analog real-time output stream, which now allows the MakeAMotion appliance to integrate directly into any standard NTSC analog equipment set up – including VCRs, TVs and other cable-ready setups.

It also provides simultaneous HD and SD recording/streamcasting. This allows the operator to easily record in a web-definition file for archiving the videos, while simultaneously streaming live at full-resolution for compatibility with cable broadcasting, live TV support, and other legacy media integration.

Designed to grow as you do, MakeAMotion.NET’s latest release includes:

  • Up to 8 Channels of CD-Quality Audio, or
  • Up to 16 Channels of Standard Definition Audio
  • Up to 16 Cameras and/or Video Input Channels

Government can now record meetings in a web definition file for meeting-video archiving on their website, while simultaneously streaming live at full resolution for cable broadcasting and live TV.

Lehigh CountyVideos of the weekly meetings of the Lehigh County Commissioners are now available for viewing online.

With this initiative, the County Commissioners are enhancing access to public information, increasing transparency, encouraging citizen participation, and building public trust.

Over the past few years, Lehigh County had looked at a number of products and determined that the MakeAMotion and VideoMinutes solutions best met the County’s operational and ease-of-use requirements.

Now, constituents who are unable to attend the weekly meetings (typically held on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Public Hearing Room of the Lehigh County Government Center, in Allentown, PA), can simply go to Lehigh County’s site, click on the meeting link, and watch the meeting video.

All archived meeting videos are searchable by agenda topic, allowing residents to easily find the meeting and specific agenda item of interest.

In addition to watching the instructional videos, students can refer to support documents available in PDF format and provided on the video player page. Each chapter is linked so that the viewer can revisit any particular area where clarification or review is needed. An instructor comment box has been placed by each chapter link, providing a venue for students to email the course instructor questions or comments regarding the content covered in that particular section of the video.

Lancaster County, PA, a MakeAMotion and VideoMinutes customer since 2008, has begun using these solutions for the purpose of training and education. By using the video capture solution to record the training sessions, and then archiving the sessions for later on-demand viewing, the County now has the ability to increase training flexibility (for both the students and the instructors), expand their offerings, and enhance time and personnel efficiency.
